A Colorado native, James was born and raised in Grand Junction, CO. Growing up in a small town on the Western Slope gave James the chance to explore and enjoy a lot of what makes Colorado so popular today: camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking, rafting, etc.
After graduating from Central High School in Grand Junction, James helped pay his way through college by working in the construction industry, learning all facets of residential construction. In 1991, James joined the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving as an Aerial Navigator on KC-130 aircraft from 1991-1995. During his service, James traveled all over the world, living in Japan for two years and getting to spend time on every continent except Antarctica.
Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Marines in 1995, James returned to building homes in western Colorado. He eventually made his way to Fort Collins, where he went to work as a superintendent for a local builder and put his signature on 300+ homes in the Fort Collins and Windsor areas. It was during this time that James met his wife, Kerry, and they started their family. James and Kerry now have two sons, Austin and Brandon, that keep them busy.
James’ modest upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic, honesty, integrity, and respectfulness. James’ experience in residential construction accentuated his attention to detail and eye for quality, and helped him develop his communication, negotiation, and customer service skills. James thrives on helping others and his pride in his work not only makes his clients happy, many are friends for life.
